| NVidia G300 ready to take ATI |
The new NVidia G300 is rumoured to be an amazing piece of hardware but still be in the 40MM size. While looking over the specs I could not help but wonder if your one minute egg would cook in 30 seconds or 40 seconds if placed on top of this thing. The heat from this thing will rival a blast furnace.

| Intel to phase out I-7 940 |
Intel is getting ready to discontinue its first processor based on the Nehalem micro-architecture after roughly six months in the market. Specifically, the company has notified its partners that the 2.93GHz Core i7 940 CPU is being phased out as demand towards the chip has shifted to other products. It’ll be a while until it is officially off the market, however – customers can place their final orders for the 940 until September. Intel will ship its last boxed units on December 4 this year and the last tray flavors of the chip on November 5, 2010.

| Windows 7 by Oct 23? |
A high level executive from Acer reports that Windows 7 will be released by Oct.23 in time for the holiday season. Again as noted in another story, Windows 7 will come in 6 flavors as if they did not learn from Vista. Confused you still will be after this episode of Windows.

| Fix for Call of Duty World at War patch 1.4 and Nazi Zombie Mods |

In CoD 5 with the 1.4 patch do you see The server is running the mod MOD/NAZI_ZOMBIE_ You need to load the mod before you can join demo.
If you have seen this when trying to play a nazi_zombie_mod with the Call of Duty:World at War patch 1.4 then you are not alone. Many people have seen this and so far as I know no one has a fix..least till now.
I was on the phone with a very good friend that I often play CoD5 Nazi Zombie. He said that he and another player could not play nazi zombie mods after updating to the 1.4 patch. I had not tried it so I jumped online and got with him teamspeak.
After some trial and error I was able to determine that the name of the mod has to be six characters. The includes the underscore _. So if the name of the mod is nazi_zombie_thisiscool you would have to shorten the name by getting rid of "cool". Then the map would play. Simple fix right or so I thought.....My friend came up with the idea if someone took out the first few characters and someone else took out out the last few of the same map would it work.........and the answer is yes it will. We tried several different combinations and finally came up with the easiest fix.
THE FIX IS RIGHT HERE
In the end we simply took off the nazi_zombie from the map and everything worked fine. So if the map name is nazi_zombie_thisiscool Just take off the nazi_zombie in the name of actual folder. We tried single and co-op online with a couple of maps and ran into no problems. Another plus is that all maps show up in alphabetical order.

| Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping - Preview |
I have been waiting for the D0 stepping on the 920 for awhile now. Microcenter has the chip for $229.99 but it is the C0 stepping. Not saying that the C0 is a bad chip but the new D0 stepping that I have been reading about runs like an illegal alien for the US border with lower temps and voltage. When a D0 chip was overclocked the exact same as the C0, the D0 ran cooler at lower voltages. This chip is worth the money double if your next to a Microcenter where you can fetch it *cough cough* at the low price of $229.99.
